 Book Fair Poster Contest

Less than one month until the Book Fair...which means it is time for our annual Book Fair poster contest! This year, not only will our illustrious judges pick one winner per grade, all students submitting posters will get entered into a raffle for each grade! The winners will receive a $10 Book Fair gift certificate. Find all the details on our website.

Parade of Cuisines and Heritage Night

Due to conflicts for a number of our CRS families, our 25th Parade of Cuisines and Family Heritage Night is being rescheduled - new date to be announced soon!

Martha's Table

Our epic sandwich making community service event is this Wednesday for students in grades 1, 3, 5 - don't forget to turn in those permission slips by tomorrow (Tuesday) for any students that want to join the sandwich fun. We're collecting donations this week of pre-sliced bread, pre-packaged lunch meat, or cheese slices through Wednesday morning to help with the event.

Food can be dropped off in the Community Service bins located near the school office, cafeteria, gym, or outside most classrooms. We will collect donated food each morning by 9:15 AM and refrigerate it immediately. Learn more

Reflections

This National PTA program is open to every student at CRS. We're looking forward to seeing all the amazing creativity! Categories include dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Students should submit their original artwork, inspired by the theme "Heroes Around Me", to the CRS front office by 10/26 (don't forget the entry form!). A reception will be held to recognize all participants in the spring. Learn more.

Digital Citizenship

It's digital citizenship week at FCPS! The Fairfax County Council PTA (FCCPTA) is launching an effort to empower and motivate parents to shape our kids’ digital future with health, safety, and wellness in mind. FCCPTA is putting together an advisory council of PTA members - if interested in participating, you can sign up here or attend the membership meeting on October 17th to learn more.

Did you know that the National PTA has a variety of resources to help parents navigate digital topics? Visit their site here and learn more. You can also find resources and tips from FCPS - visit FCPS digital citizenship resources.
